Depending on the resolution, sensor, and lens used, a home security camera can often observe a range of 0 to 70 feet. There are, however, professional cameras, such as high-resolution PTZs, that can see further out, with a range of 0 to 700 feet.
Security cameras, often known as CCTV cameras, transmit data from one site to a monitor located at a distance, whereas surveillance cameras employ IP networks to connect the camera from a remote point to the designated security location.
Both cameras will function in any situation, however the bullet camera will be better for long-range video and the dome camera will be better for shorter distances but with a wider angle. LEDs are included in both dome and bullet cameras, allowing them to view in low-light environments.
